Being lazy, watching my baby sleep! Soaking up as much Carson time as I can before I have to leave him tomorrow for the 1st time in 6 weeks. Mommy is going to have a very rough Monday.
Gabe celebrated his 25th birthday yesterday! It is depressing to reach that quarter of a century mark--he was more depressed that he is now as old as me! HA! It was a great day. Gabe's family came over and we hung out, hung Christmas lights, grilled, played cards--very relaxing day with family. Carson got his daddy some goodies--but the most important present was Daddy's VERY OWN tuxedo t-shirt! Gabe has been whining that Carson has a tuxedo shirt and he doesn't--well not anymore! They can now match! This tuxedo t-shirt thing started a couple of years ago when we were hanging out with one of my best friends Jenny and her husband Eric. Gabe and Eric got on this kick that they needed tuxedo t-shirts. 2 years later Gabe finally got his. (Sorry Eric if you haven't got yours yet!)
Gabe is such a loving, caring, thoughtful, romantic, helpful (I could go on and on) husband and is such an amazing daddy! Carson and I are blessed to have such a wonderful man in our life and love him so very much!
Gabe decided to sport his ugly sweater t-shirt for his birthday! Thanks to his sister-in-law! Thanks Christin!
Carson absolutley LOVES his baths! When we put him in his bath tub, he just lays there and is so content! He had a tummy ache tonight and was fussy and we went to give him a bath and the minute we put him in the tub-- no more fussiness! It is so cute to just watch him. Almost as soon as we put him in everytime, he's peeing! Tonight he almost got Daddy! Too funny! Enjoy the closeup! I couldn't resist!
So lately, Carson has really started to discover his voice! If he decides he is hungry, he will scream on the top of his lungs almost losing his breath. Granted, this doesn't happen everytime he's hungry, just usually in the evenings when he is getting tired and is hungry. Gabe and I just giggle because it is just too funny. He is so cute when he is mad. I then feel so sorry for the poor little guy because of how upset he gets over this. I need to get it on video one of these days to share with everyone.
I am enjoying these last few days before I have to go back to school. Really really not looking forward to Monday and leaving Carson for the first time in 6 weeks. :(
I hope everyone has a FABULOUS Thanksgiving! We are heading back home tonight and spending tomorrow with both of our families. I just love that our families are only 10 minutes from each other--we enjoy spending time with our families so much and just are thankful that we are able to see both of them so often!
Picture of the week! I will have more to come soon!
So it has been forever since I have blogged and I appologize! I thought I would upload a few pictures quick and give a quick update!
Still no word about Carson's ultrasound--I guess no news is good news. His bump is completely gone though so I'm guessing it was nothing! He is growing like crazy and getting so big! He has the biggest blue eyes and absolutely has stolen our hearts! Nights have been okay--up every 2-3 hours. Sunday night, however, he was up at 3 and decided he wasn't going to go back to bed and wanted to be held--spoiled!
I have 2 weeks left before I go back to school and am already dreading it! I am just going to enjoy every minute of every day!
Carson is starting to love his baths!
All decked out in his Iowa gear for the game SaturdayDaddy is soooo jealous that Carson has a tuxedo t-shirt and he doesn't!We went into Des Moines Sunday and got family pictures and Carson's 1 month picture! Below are a few of the shots!
Well, I haven't blogged in over a week so I thought I would give an update. Back to the beginning of the week and Carson's ultrasound he had to have on his head--we haven't found out anything yet BUT his bump is GONE! Ever since last Friday it just kept going down each day and now it is completely gone. There is still a soft spot there but no bump!
It was a pretty busy week for us. Tuesday we had Carson's appointment and then Wednesday I went into Des Moines with my Grandma and did a little bit of shopping. Thursday we hung out here and then Friday we went to Omaha with my mom to visit my cousin Amanda--got my hair cut--went out to eat with my Aunt Dorothy and did a bit more shopping! Needless to say by Friday night I was completely exhausted!
Saturday we all dressed up in our Iowa gear to cheer on the Hawks! Cheering didn't really help and we weren't too excited come the end of the game. Our friends Vanessa and Kevin came down for the day and hung out! It was so good to see them and Vanessa LOVED her 3 hours of Carson time. . . plus some! :) Julie, another one of our friends, stopped by with her boyfriend on Saturday to see Carson and brought some cute Iowa gear.
Today we hung out as a family all day--went to church--took a nap--went for a walk---ran to get groceries --what a peaceful and relaxing weekend!!

Well, our baby is 2 weeks old! We had Carson's 2 week doctors appointment on Friday to get his poor little bump checked out. First of all, he is a whopping 10 pounds and 1/2 ounce! Such a BIG BOY!! :) Our doctor was still a bit concerned since the bump had not gone down so we have to go into Des Moines on Tuesday to have a cranial ultrasound done. OUR POOR BABY:( It makes me a little nervous and scared but our doctor said that he just wants to get it checked out--he thinks it may be a cyst. He is not too concerned because everything else looks fantastic with Carson; he's gaining and eating and perfect!!
Just a quick story about Carson. He makes all these funny noises when he is trying to fill his pants--and boy do you know when he does. . it's so loud. Well, he loves to do this right after Daddy or Mommy changes him. Gabe or I will change him and almost as soon as we get the diaper on, he's pooping! What a little stinker! :)
Gabe's little sister Dena spent the weekend with us since Gabe's parents didn't get back from their trip until today. My parents and my sister came down on Saturday to hang out. My dad and Gabe worked on our plumbing in the basement--what a mess. All our drains were plugged and so my dad, being the plumber he is, brought down equipment and they worked on that most of the day. We are hoping the problem is fixed--there is no more sewer backup all over our floor anymore so that is a plus, right?!!?
And here are what you all look forward too! PICTURES!! :) Peacefully sleeping!
