Baby Leah

One of my good friends, Bethany, welcomed a baby girl into the world on Thursday. They named her Leah Elizabeth. She wieghed 7 pounds 10 ounces! Everyone is doing great and they got to come home today! My mom and I and Carson were in Des Moines yesterday so we swung by the hospital to see her. Leah is so tiny . . .Carson was NEVER that little. :) She is adorable and it made me want to have another one. . . in a few years :)

Visiting Aunt Christin

Last weekend Gabe was gone because he was in a basketball tournament so Carson and I, along with my Mom and Dad, headed to Spencer for a short weekend to see my sister Christin! She moved a little over a month ago. She is the new manager of Buckle in the Spencer mall. We didn't get up there until about 4 on Saturday. We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out in her store. . . trying on clothes. . . spending too much money. . but it was fun! We decided to order in for supper so she could get a bit of Carson time! Sunday, we went to church and then headed to Spirit Lake to check out Lake Okoboji and our cabin. I don't think I've ever seen the lake frozen so that was different! It makes me really anxious for this summer though! Gabe and I love spending time at the lake boating. . . we can't wait for Carson to experience all the fun!

It was so good to see my sister. It's a bit hard being so far away and not being able to run into Des Moines anymore to see her! We definitely have missed her but are hoping for opportunities to see her often! This summer will be great because she will be able to join us at the lakes a lot!

Girls Night

Last weekend was my future sister-in-law Erin's bachelorette party! I am the MOH so had the privelage of planning a fun-filled evening! It was my first night away from Carson so I was really sad about that but he stayed with my mom and did great! Mommy was really excited to see her baby on Sunday!

Us girls stayed down in Omaha at the Old Market. We had a room at the Embassy Suites and started off there with a few snacks and drinks! We then ventured out and ate at Upstream. . YUMMO! We then did a bit of bar hopping and was back in our room by 12:00. Very low key evening but it was so much fun! Erin looked adorable in the things I got for her and she is going to be a beautiful bride!

Our Blue Eyed Baby Boy

I can't hardly believe that is has been 5 months since our baby boy was born. Oh how time flies!! Gabe and I were just looking through pictures of the last 5 months and noticing how much Carson has changed! As a new parent, you are always hearing . . . oh how fast they grow . . .enjoy every minute--it is sooo true! I absolutely love each stage he goes through and he is getting so fun! His new thing this week. . ROLLING OVER!!! Monday I put him down on his stomach to play and was putting some things away. I looked over and he rolled from his stomach to his back. . .I was so SUPER EXCITED I had to go over and give him a big hug. I put him down a 2nd time and he did it again! YAY! Ever since then, he has been a rolling maniac! He no longer stays on his stomach for more than a few minutes when going to bed. . he ends up on his side or back. It is funny how excited Mommy and Daddy can get at each milestone. I hope you enjoy Carson rolling over as much Mommy and Daddy do!

Jumperoo!

I have been on Spring Break all week and Carson and I have done nothing but stay home and play! I could definitely get used to this!
It is amazing how fast he is growing. I have noticed a huge difference just from last week to this week. His new thing. . ROLLING OVER! I will blog and post a video on that a bit later -- Mommy is so proud!

4 months

Yesterday was Carson's 4 month appointment! He's actually 4 1/2 months and he was such a big boy! He was all checked out and looked great! He then had to be taken to get his shots. I was just hoping that I didn't cry more than he did this time!:) Well, Mommy was strong and didn't even shed a tear. . .poor Carson screamed during his shots but then afterwards was a happy camper. He is such a happy baby and Gabe and I are so lucky to have such a healthy baby boy!

Length: 27 1/2 inches (97th percentile)
Weight: 16 lbs. 14 ounces (75th percentile)
Doctor Markham said he is going to be tall and skinny!!! :)

Shopping!

Saturday my mom and I went shopping! Carson is quite the shopper! Well, Mommy and Grandma are quite the shoppers and Carson just reaps the benefits. We were in Council Bluffs because I was getting my hair done at my cousins so we just shopped at JC Penny's and Kohls. They were having great sales and Carson got lots of adorable stuff for summer! We then ended up at the Mall of the Bluffs. . . don't even remember the last time I shopped there! We checked out Dillards and they were having amazing sales. Everything was picked over in the baby department but I did get this zip-up Hurley sweatshirt for 5 bucks! Too cute! We checked out Children's Place and Carson got his first pair of sunglasses! He is ready for SUMMER and BOJI and BOATING with Grandpa!!! :)
