Visiting Friends!

Yesterday Carson and I ventured to Sioux City to visit my best friends from college!  It has been a crazy summer and we are all so busy but Vanessa (lives in Omaha) had a hair appointment in SC and so I decided to tag along!  We spent the afternoon hanging out at BR's appartment; then we went over to BI's new house after she got off work.  We ended the day by eating at Texas Road House. . YUMMO! 
Carson was a bit fussy but he was also out of his element and meeting LOTS of new people!  He's such a Mommy's boy.  We decided to leave at his bed time so he could snooze allll the way home. . which he did! :)  I really miss my friends and wish we had more opportunities to get together! Love you girls!
Oh yah, and forgot my camera so BR was gracious enough to get some pictures!

Pool Time!

Today we decided to venture out to the pool!  We met a few of my friends there.  Bethany, who has a 4 month old Leah, came and so we just HAD to capture a few shots of the 2 together in the pool!  It was a perfect day to be in the water. .  we just feel bad for Daddy who has to roof in this weather. . yucky!

ZOOOOOO

Zoooo time!  Saturday we took off for the Zoo with Gabe's family.  It was looking like a beautiful day!  Well, I think everybody and their child thought it was going to be a good day for the zoo because I have never seen it so crowded.  We had to literally wait in lines and ran into people jams and stroller jams going through the dessert and aquarium.  I was too worried about running into everybody that I didn't even enjoy half the stuff!  Looking at the bright side, we had some bonding time with the family!

I didn't capture a lot of pictures inside the different exhibits because there wasn't room to move, but I did get a few outside!

9 MONTHS!!!

Carson is 9 months old already. . .I know I say this EVERY month, but I just can't believe how fast he is growing and changing.  He is the love of our lives!  He is crawling everywhere and getting into EVERYTHING. . .but I love every single minute of it!  He is pulling himself up to everything and I have a feeling he is going to start taking steps. . sooon!  We bought a walker that he can push around and he loves walking with that!
This week he had his 9 month checkup!  Doctor said he looks great!  Here are his stats:
Weight: 21 pounds--60th percentile
Length: 28 1/2 inches--60th percentile
Head diameter: Doctor Markham just said he has a big head. . HA!

Yesterday we had Carson's 9 month pictures taken.  I had Jordan Foster take them, she just graduated and lives in Refield.  We did outdoor pictures and she did an awesome job!  I am definitely going back to her again. She was such a sweetie.  It was so hot yesterday and it was hard to get Carson to really smile. . but she did capture a few glimpses!

Weekend in Boji with the Baughmans

Last weekend we had our traditional weekend at Boji with Gabe's family.  I went up on Thursday with my parents to get a few extra days in.  As always the weekend flew, but it was a lot of fun.  Saturday we went boating and then ended up leaving Carson with Gabe's mom and dad at our cabin in the afternoon while all the kids boated and tubed.  Jim and Lori absolutely loved having Carson all to themselves!  Saturday night we grilled and sat around the campfire.  Sunday was a short day. . Carson napped most of the morning and then we headed into Arnolds Park for a bit before heading home.

What size is yours?

Do you have one person in your life that you are very much alike?  Well I have come to know that I do!  One of my best friends from high school, Jenny, and I have always been alike in many ways. 
In high school, we would always have to dress exactly alike. . .
In college, I would go to visit her and her friends would mistaken me for her and ask if I was her sister.  One of her friends even came up to me once and sang me happy birthday. . on her birthday! :)
She was the first to have babies since she was a couple years older than me. . but now that we both have babies very close together, it hasn't stopped.  We have appeared to buy the exact same diaper bag, the same outfits, bibs, ect.

WELL. . . the 4thd of July weekend we had a wedding. . one of Gabe's best friends from highschool. . .also Jenny's cousin.  I was soooo excited to see her and her boys because it had been a while! 
You will never guess what happened. . .or maybe you already have guessed based on what I have written so far. . . we show up. . .in the EXACT SAME DRESS!!!  What are the chances of this happening?!?!  Seriously?!?!
I walked in to the church and was seated and then I turned around to see her sitting in the back of the church and she is motioning with her hands and pointing to her dress. . .it is then that I realized we had the same dress.  At least we both have good taste, right?!?!  At the reception, we spent about 15 minutes snapping pictures and in the midst of it all I turned to her and said. . "What size is yours?"  Jenny states that she was going to ask me the same thing. . . weird!  It turns out we both bought the same size. . . of course we did!

4th Recap!

So, we had such a busy weekend but it was fun.  I could have probably posted 3 different blogs but thought I would combine into one! So. . here we go. .

Thursday:  Had to head back home to my parents house because one of Gabe's best friends, Nate Lueth, got married on Friday and we had the rehearsal supper Thursday night.  Rehearsal was in Arcadia where they got married, supper was in Carroll. . yummy food!

Friday:  Gabe had to be in Arcadia for pictures at 1:30 but the wedding wasn't until 5.  I left Carson with my mom and went to the wedding with Erin.  It was a beautiful wedding and Julie, the bride, looked amazing!  Nate and Julie are the perfect couple and I'm so glad we got to be part of their special day!

Saturday:  Gabe and I were up and out the door by 9 headed for Boji!  My mom was gracious enough to keep Carson for the day/night while Gabe and I had our first overnight together without him.  We got up to the lakes around 11:30 and were out on the boat by 12:30.  Our friends Nicole and Kelly joined us and it was a slow start.  The problem:  Our tube had blown into the water the week prior and so the boys spent an hour trying to get the darn thing out of the water.  It was not a success so I had the bright idea to drag the tube behind the boat to the dock and then bring it to shore.  Come to find out, the plug had come undone and the tube was completely full of water and the boys thought it probably weighed a good 200-300 pounds.  Gabe and Kelly finally got the tube drained and loaded onto our golf cart and we were OFF!  My sister got off work about 3 and met up with us.  We boated until about 8:30 Saturday night!  We headed back to the cabin, grilled tons of food that Nicole and Kelly brought and sat around the camp fire!  Great day!

Sunday: It looked a little gloomy but we went boating for a few hours before heading back home.  Gabe had to work on Monday so had to get back Sunday. . no fireworks for us :(  I missed Carson anyway and he was allll smiles when he saw Mommy and Daddy!  Love him to death!

We came back home yesterday to unpack, get organized and pack again for this weekend!  We are going to be with Gabe's family this weekend in Boji. . I'm heading up with my parents on Thursday just to get a few extra days in! :)
