Carson's Birthday Eve

So my sister thought of the post title tonight. . leave it to her!  A year ago tonight, I was in the hospital. . IN LABOR!  Carson was born a year ago tonight at 12:30!  I am sooo excited to help him celebrate his 1st  birthday tomorrow!  We have a big party planned. . details and pictures of that later! :)

Our Sunday. . .

We had a pretty eventful Sunday!  The day started off with Carson waking up. . at 8:40!!! He has never slept that late!  Gabe and I enjoyed the extra hour or so of sleep as well.  We headed to church and our little church family was in awwww of how big Carson is getting.  He was definitely the center of attention smiling at everyone and playing peek-a-boo with people he doesn't even know.  The church we attend here is very small and the majority of the people are elderly.  The pastor loves when babies run all over and really encourages it.  So Gabe and I are quietly sitting in our pew today while our son is up in front pulling off these care packages (that are headed to Africa) that are placed all along the alter.  He then decides he will lay on the steps of the pulpit.  Gabe and I are the ones where we think that our son should be in the pew as to not bother others. . . but oh no, our church family absolutely loves Carson running wild.  Not sure if many people got much out of the sermon today, but they sure had a good little show from our sweet little Carson!

After church, our friends Nicole and Kelly stopped by.  It was so great to see them and Eric and Alic are getting so big!!!  I miss them living close.  Carson was napping when they arrived but woke up to Eric and Alic playing with his toys! :)  Carson is very in aww of big kids lately. It was so cute to see them play.

As they were leaving, my sister stopped by quick.  She came and stayed with us Friday night but had a bachelorette party in Des Moines on Saturday.  She was on her way back to Spencer so stopped and gave Carson one last hug!

I attempted to give Carson his 2nd haircut tonight since it was getting fluffy and long again.  We first tried to cut it outside but Carson was not having it.  I was about to give up on the whole thing but had an idea.  I put him up on the bathroom counter to play in the sink.  This worked!  He loved turning the faucet on and off.  By the end of his haircut he was completely submerged in a sink full of water. . pants and all!

After the haircut, I wanted to take a few 1 year pictures.  This did not turn out so swell.  He was getting a bit tired and refused to look at the camera or smile. . .for 99% of the pics. So trial one. . fail.  Hope to try again maybe next weekend!  Gabe wanted me to post this one. . with his crazy eyes! :)  I must have done something pretty funny!

Leah's Pictures!

So I told you about Leah's pictures that I took on Sunday and Bethany has posted some and facebooked away so now I am going to share a few!  They turned out so cute. . such a great little model Leah is!  Don't worry, I didn't post all 190 that we originally took!

weekend wrap-up!

Today was a pretty relaxing day!  Carson woke up at 6:30, had a few ounces of his bottle, then crashed in Mommy and Daddy's bed until 8:40. . he was being a major bed hog and about had me off the bed but at least he was getting his rest!! :)  He still has an awful cough and I am probably going to take him to the doctor tomorrow. 

This afternoon my friend Bethany came over with her 6 month old daughter, Leah.  I volunteered to take Leah's 6 month pictures.  Yes, we all know that is not what I do.  In fact, this was my first little photo shoot with someone elses's child!  And let me tell you, it was a blast!  Leah is SOOO adorable and the pictures turned out so cute!  I ended up taking 190 pictures. . whoops!  We narrowed it down to about 70. . that still sounds a little overboard but why not!  We were having fun with it!

Back home. . .

We are back home enjoying our Saturday night watching the Hawks kick some butt!  I went back to my mom and dad's last night to hang out since Gabe had a football game a couple hours away that I was not planning on traveling to.  My dad was working so my mom and I went out to my grandma and grandpa's to eat supper and get a few pumpkins.

This morning we hung out while Carson napped.  He is still not feeling well and has a cough that sounds awful.  I may have to take him to the doctor if it doesn't get better tomorrow.  Poor little guy is so tough!

Gabe had to work for his uncle today fixing a roof so I went over to his parents house for the afernoon.  I did Dena's hair since it is her homecoming dance tonight!  It turned out super cute!  I'm in the wrong profession! :)

I arrived at daycare today to find Carson with a 100 degree temperature.  Poor Baby!  He has had a mild runny nose and cough for a week or so now but today the cough turned into what sounds like a bark and his nose is so plugged up.  We cuddled a lot tonight, covered his chest in baby vix, gave him some tylenol and put him to bed. 

Daddy gets to stay home tomorrow with him while Mommy goes to school.

Hopefully he feels better soon.  I hate seeing him not feel well.

Friday Nights

One thing I love about Friday nights in the fall is. . .FOOTBALL!  Last night before heading to Gabe's game, Carson and I were outside and I snapped a few photos. . just because. . .

By the way, Cougars came out with a win last night!!  Carson slept in his stroller the entire 2nd half so it was fun to actually watch the game while we they playing well! :) 

Our Saturday is being spent hanging out with Carson and relaxing! Love these days!
