Carson's 2 year update!

So. . I know, I know. . I'm only like 3 months behind on Carson's 2 year update! Better late than never, right?!?!  My little man is so darn smart and he surprises us daily of how much he knows!
Carson. . 2 Years Old. . .
LOVES LOVES LOVES to read books and can recite books back to you after reading them a few times
Sleeps in a toddler bed—nightly routine is reading books and singing songs with a sippy cup of milk
Sleeping pattern—is now capable of getting out of bed in the middle of the night and walking into Mommy and Daddy’s room—if he does, we take him back to bed
He is usually up between 6:00-6:30 in morning and then will fall back asleep in Mommy and Daddy’s bed until 7:30 or 8:00.
Counts to 10 perfectly
Knows all of his colors and the basic shapes
Goes potty in big boy potty (still in diapers but does go if you ask him)—not poop though
He will go into another room to poop or if you are by him he will get very defensive saying things like ‘no mommy, I don’t like that’ or ‘don’t do that’ if you call him out on it!
Very independent
Loves to give hugs, kisses, and cuddles
Never ever stops talking-vocabulary is incredible and can carry on a conversation with anyone.
Says things that you just can’t make up!  He makes us laugh each and every day!
Get’s SO excited over the smallest things and will clap and say ‘YAY’ or jump up and down
Constantly asks the question ‘Why?’ and when you answer him, he replies with ‘well why’
"Watch what this dooooz" when he wants you to watch something
In size 5 diapers
Wearing size 2T clothing
Size 7c shoes
Knows his abc’s
Knows and sings a TON of songs!
Knows how to spell his name—sometimes he needs a little bit of guidance
Loves to draw and color and knows how to hold his pencil the proper way (thanks to daddy)
Says please and thank you faithfully
Reminds Mommy and Daddy to pray before every meal and if we aren’t quite ready, he will go ahead and pray by himself
Loves to do ‘work’ with daddy—gets out his hammer, hat, pencil in the ear and loves to pretend to fix something or work on something!
Loves to play ‘coach’
Is obsessed with any kind of ball!
Is starting to find an excuse after getting put to bed (potty, he peed his pants, he lost his blankie, he’s thirsty)
Loves his MILK!  Has to have milk every morning when waking, and every night before bed
Loves his taggies blankie—sleeps every night with it
Loves anything Toy Story—was a period of time when we had to watch it every morning and every night!
Loves tractors and knows the proper names for any John Deere piece of machinery
Was into the movie ELF over Christmas!
So gentle to his brother—loves to hug and kiss him. . . and hold him and take pictures
Is a very good eater—not a big breakfast eater, but loves his fruit!
“ Can I watch Up for a yiddle (little) bit”  famous last 3 words when asking to do something
Love my little man! Here are a few pictures I took this weekend. . .love all his emotions!

Bath Time!!

Friday night, my parents came down to eat supper with the boys and me because Gabe had a game away and I was not attending.  I decided to tackle 2 baths with the help of my parents. . .just a few pictures of my boys getting CLEAN!
When Kellen takes a bath. . .he is SO alert and wide-eyed!  I still swaddle him in the bath because that is what they did in the NICU and it keeps him so much warmer throughout the bath.

My blue-eyed baby boy!

Big Boy Underwear!

No. .we are not there yet with being potty trained.  Carson will go potty if you take him and he does a great job at daycare going when they take him, but he still doesn't have the self control of realizing he has to go before he actually IS going.  We aren't pushing it, but we are constantly talking about it!
This weekend, he developed an AWFUL diaper rash.  I felt so bad for him and his poor bottom.  After bath time, I decided to put underwear on him for a while to give the rash some air.  He looked so stinkin' cute in them and so of course. . OUT came the camera!  Here are a few of him posing with his Toy Story undies!
Love Him!

My Praying Boy

I just thought I'd share with you this precious picture of Carson.  He will not begin eating most meals without praying first.  He will sit there and say 'Time to pray'
Just melts my heart!

Tuxedo Time

Over break, I decided it was time to bring out the tuxedo t-shirts!  I got Carson one when he was Kellen's age (Kellen now can wear it).  Once Gabe knew that Carson had one, he HAD to have one. .so shortly after Carson got one, I found one for Gabe.  Well, for Christmas, Uncle Brandon and Aunt Erin got Carson a tuxedo t-shirt so now ALL my boys have them!  Too bad we had nowhere to go!  It was still fun and definitely picture worthy! :)

Rockin' their tuxedo t-shirts

Christmas Day 2011

The last of our Christmases!  Christmas day was spent at my parents house hanging out, opening presents, relaxing, and napping!  My sister is in retail. . so unfortunately she only got Christmas Day off . .  but we made her time home count and she was able to get plenty of Carson and Kellen time!  The day started off with church and then brunch with my grandparents--Mom fixed a delicious meal!  After that, it was present time!
Carson, of course, had a blast opening all his presents and Kellen's.. . and Mommy's, Daddy's, . . .ect.  It was nice because we took breaks to play with our Carson's presents and then we'd open more. . .
I'm just going to let the pictures do the talking!
