Busy Weekend

This past Friday, Gabe and I took the day off from school and headed up to Okoboji. Not so much for play but for work. . . Gabe helped my dad put a steel roof on our lake home. Friday was beautiful! I was the errand girl-- oh and I did provide snacks and make lunch. . Subway it was!
Saturday, however, was FREEZING! It was like 38 degrees so mom and I tried to find ways to stay warm! Lot of Layers!!! The boys however got the roof on so no more leaks!!! It looks fantastic! I didn't get pictures of the final product--I was too cold to go outside and snap some more shots!

Sunday was a down pour so we headed home to catch Dena's dance recital--she did great by the way! We got back home last night to find we had almost 4 inches of rain over the weekend-- and some of which was leaking through our walls of our basement:( We have plans to finish our basement this summer so we are going to have to do a little repairing before then!

Mommy-to-be update:
I'm still feeling fabulous! I feel so fortunate to to be feeling so good! A cute little story about today-- I had one of my little preschoolers at recess come up and rub my stomach and ask if I had a baby growing inside of me--after my reply of yes (he definitely wasn't expecting that answer) he turned and told all the little ones around him that I have a "real live baby inside me" He just couldn't believe it! :) His little voice and reaction was adorable!

Up 3 times?!?

So is it normal to be up 3 times in the middle of the night going to the bathroom already?!?!?! I was in bed by 9:30 last night, Gabe came to bed about 10:30--his statement---"You are getting up to go to the bathroom ALREADY?!?!" Yes, I know, I must have a small bladder! Either that or this is God's way of preparing me for those nights to come of up feeding at all hours of the night!!! Anyway! Thought I'd share this little tidbit about my pregnancy with all of you. Like you allll really care to know--but does this happen to everybody?!?! :)

Starting Off

So, thanks to my best friend Jenny, I have decided to start a blog. I have never been one to even think about starting a blog, but thought it a good idea for my family and friends to see what is going on in Gabe and I's life! I may not be a very good blogger at first but will hopefully get better. Gabe and I are ready to share our journey with family and friends as I enjoy reading about my friends through their blogs.



What's happening in our life right now: I am 13 weeks and 3 days pregnant and absolutely loving it. I'm feeling great and . . . so is Gabe! He has been experiencing a few "symptoms" and sometimes feels maybe he is the one pregnant! ha! I must not be giving him enough attention! :) Our baby is the size of a "shrimp" this week but is almost completely developed. Amazing huh!!! We are both looking forward to this new adventure in our life and can't wait to be parents! I'll try to get up pictures when I can so everyone can see how round I'm getting! My friends seem to be more obsessed with my stomach than Gabe or I am! But they can't wait for Baby Baughman to be here either!!! As you can see in the picture below, my best friend Betsy was having lots of fun with the baby and my belly!!
