First official haircut. . .

So it was finally time for Carson's 1st official haircut! I have trimmed his hair 3 times already, but it was getting a little too long and I felt like he was ready for his first big boy haircut!  We called a family friend who used to cut Gabe's hair and she was more than happy to do it.  I was a little worried how Carson would react to it. . .it wasn't a happy sight.  He was not impressed and cried screamed most of the haircut.  Towards the end of the haircut, we tried bribing Carson with a lawnmower ride after the haircut and finally he started to settle down.  Poor guy. . .looking at pictures it looks absolutely awful but. . . our little man got through it and Mommy and Daddy were so proud of him!

Our Exciting News!

Well. .I guess it is time to share the news. . . Carson is going to be a BIG BROTHER! :)
Gabe and I are extremely excited to add to our family and Carson is thrilled to be getting a baby brother/sister!

How we found out (or how I found out I should say):
Let's rewind back to getting pregnant with Carson--Gabe was away at a football clinic when I decided to take a test and so I couldn't tell him for about 12 hours--TORTURE!
Well--this time around, I was visiting one of my best friends and was having some really odd feelings that I hadn't experienced since the last time I had been pregnant.  I didn't think much about them but Jenny suggested taking a test just to make sure so I did and. . . POSITIVE!  Gabe was not with me again. . he was playing in a basketball tournament in Spencer--just my luck. . again. . couldn't tell him for at least 12 hours :(  I should have learned my lesson the first time around and waited until we were together. . .but I didn't think much abou it. . or much rather didn't think the test could be positive! :)

I had my first doctor's appointment yesterday and have an ultrasound on Friday to get an exact due date. (Right now it's around December 10th)  Gabe wasn't able to get off work, so I had to go alone.  I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time and was thrilled to know things are looking good!  I will keep you all updated as this journey progresses.
This is how we told parents. . .

Mother's Day

We were fortunate to be able to spend Mother's Day with our moms.  Gabe and I are truly blessed to have such wonderful women in our life that serve as awesome role models and have taught us so much.

I don't know what I would do without my mom.  She has been there for me through all of my journeys and I can only hope that I can be as great a mother to Carson as she has been to me.  Love you with all my heart Mom!

18 month stats

Yesterday we had Carson's 18 month appointment.  He was a happy camper until we rounded the corner of the hallway into Dr. Markham's area--he then looked at Gabe and me and started screaming.  He was scared to death, but I guess I would be scared to death of the doctor's office too if I knew that I had to get shots everytime I went to this place!  The nurse had to take some measurements--and he screamed bloody murder until she was done.  He then calmed down and once he saw Dr. Markham. . screamed again.  Both nurse and doctor informed us that being scared was completely normal at this age--Doctor Markham said Carson would start to like him again when he's about 3! :)  All in all, everything looks great and doctor Markham said that Carson is way advanced verbally.  Carson only had to get 1 shot yesterday, but was content after the shot knowing that he got a SUCKER! :)
