Kellen's 1st Birthday Party!

Sunday we celebrated Kellen's 1st birthday!  We all had a blast with friends and family!  The theme this year- Sock Monkeys!  The day started off with all of us heading to church together.  After church, the party began!  We ate dinner, played, opened presents, played, and then indulged in cake and cupcakes!  The afternoon was a blast and our little man was WIPED OUT at the end of it!

Flash back: I year ago yesterday I was released from the hospital in Harlan and got to head down to finally see my little man for the first time since giving birth.  That was the longest 3 days of my life!  As we celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, I am so thankful that this year we will be spending it as a family! Last year Gabe and I spent Thanksgiving in Omaha eating our Thanksgiving dinner in the hospital dining room; Carson was with my parents.  So blessed to have family that is always there for us through everything!

Below are some pictures of Kellen's Sunday Fun!

Happy 1st Birthday Kellen!

Happy 1st Birthday to our baby boy, Kellen!
It's hard to believe that it was only 1 short year ago I was sitting in a hospital room waiting for Doctor Markham to come tell me when I could have you!  3:30 couldn't come soon enough as we had waited 9 months to meet you!  Little did we know that you would be taken away in a helicopter just 6 hours after being born and not see me(Mommy) again for the next 3 days.  Watching you leave and knowing that I couldn't go with you was the hardest thing I've ever experienced as a Mommy.  You then spent the next 11 days in the NICU down in Omaha.  Emotions have been flooding my memory this last week of all that we went through as a family just a year ago.
Today, however, you are the healthiest little boy and bring so much joy to our family!  I adore your playful personality and all your smiles and giggles!  I am so blessed to be your Mommy and I can't wait to see what this next year of  life will bring!
We Love You So Much Kellen!  Happy 1st Birthday!

Meeting Baby Luke!

This past Sunday we made a quick trip to Macedonia to visit our dear friends Kevin and Vanessa who just had a baby boy!  They will be such great parents and I'm so glad we were able to meet baby Luke! I know everyone always says this when they see newborns, but. . .I forget how tiny they are! :)  It was just almost 1 short year ago that Kellen was that little and look how big he is today!
Below are a few pictures of the afternoon!

Mower Rides!

The other weekend we were outside playing and Carson was 'mowing' the yard.  Since Kellen became interested in the mower as well, I threw him on it and away they went down the hill!  It was cheap entertainment for all three of us! :)
Ready for the ride!
There they go!

And. . Crash and Burn!

Woody and Buzz!

For Halloween this year, I let Carson pick what he wanted to be!  For the longest time, he wanted to be spiderman--and then when I went to order the costumes and show him some options--it was ALL about Woody!  He is also the one that picked Kellen's costume which I thought was very fitting! So for Halloween 2012 we had Woody and Buzz!:)
One cute story:  Carson was telling his friends at daycare what he was going to be.  Since the boys' daycare is right in the elementary school, everyone knows that Gabe (Mr. Baughman) is Carson's daddy. Well, Carson's little friend Macy was talking with her mom on the way to school on Halloween.   Macy's mom was asking Macy what she thought Gabe (Mr. Baughman) would be for Halloween--her reply: " I think he's going to be A Big Woody!"  Too cute not to giggle at! :)  Enjoy the pictures!

Carson was totally spacing off! haha!
My little happy Buzz Lightyear!

Grandpa Rick and Grandma Nancy came to help trick-or-treat!
And off they go!

Pumpkin Carving!

So Gabe is obsessed with carving pumpkins!  In fact, he was bummed when we only brought him home 1 pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to carve!  Sunday night, the boys sat down and started digging away--Carson lasted about 10 minutes before he was done with it and ready to watch his nightly shows!  Gabe, however, loved every minute of it!
This is the farthest Carson would stick his hand in the pumpkin!  He hates his hands being icky!
Scooping out the seeds
Love his little muscles! (Must be his Advocare purple champs that make him so buff! :))
Showing me his seeds he dug out!
Gabe's work!

Gabe and I had conferences last week, so the boys spent 2 evenings with their favorite babysitter, Hilary!  She carved pumpkins with them and they came home with these 2 adorable pumpkins!
So cute!
