Zoooo!!!!!

This past weekend we made a trip to the zoo with Gabe’s brother Travis and his girlfriend Lindsey. It was a beautiful day to see the sights! We were there from 1-6 so needless to say I was absolutely exhausted when we got home. We saw about everything there was to see—we made the good stops for last and that might have been a mistake because Gabe loves the penguins and by the time we got to the aquarium, the penguins were worn out and boring! The last couple of times we have gone to the zoo, I have had to been lead through the desert part with all the caged snakes with my eyes closed, but I’m getting better because this trip, I wasn’t AS scared. I still got chills even though I didn’t look at any of the snakes but I didn’t cry which is an accomplishment. We were walking through the Jungle and I totally forgot that they have a caged snake—I SCREAMED! I just hate snakes. . .YUCK! Oh, and to add to the excitement of the jungle, we were walking through one of the tunnel parts when we saw a bat dangling from the ceiling. . NOT IN A CAGE. Again, I screamed and had to hide underneath Gabe’s arms. I feel bad for our future child taking zoo trips because Gabe might have to be taking care of 2 screamers!

After leaving the zoo, we headed down to the old market to meet up with friends of ours, Kevin and Vanessa. We haven’t seen them in a while so it was so good to catch up over supper! I miss all of my friends so much, it’s disappointing that I don’t get to see everyone as much as I’d like. Everyone just has such busy busy lives! Sad! Before we headed for home, we had to make a stop at Dairy Queen. . YUM! I had the chocolate covered strawberry blizzard—yummooooo! I would recommend it to everybody!

Sunday we woke up and got to see my dad for Father’s Day for a little while before he headed to bed. He was on nights so he had just gotten home from work. We then went to Kirkman to church with Gabes dad and then had lunch with them. It was a nice relaxing day. I hope all the Daddy’s out there had a fabulous day!

What the hail?!?!

Soo, in the words of Gabe. . . "What the hail?"  Let's roll back to about a week ago-- Gabe texts me a picture showing that we were getting quarter size hail--oh brother!  That will get you a little excited.  Well, roll ahead to this Wednesday-- Gabe and I were watching TV when our Directv started acting up and it started lightning and raining--down came pea size hail and oh boy.  We then turn on our radio just in time to here that there is a storm producing 60 mile an hour winds and golf ball size hail--headed straight for Adair!  Oh Great!  It was set to hit about 10:30 and this was at 10:20 that we heard it.  We were in the middle of playing a game of Yahtzee--since our TV was on the fritz at the moment.  We decided to head down to our basement, flashlight and a deck of cards in hand.  Sure enough, 10:30 rolls around and we thought our roof was going to cave in the hail was so loud. . . and big!  Just for the record, if Gabe wasn't there, I would have been bawling and freaking out!  I was doing a pretty good job of staying calm though while we were playing a game of War.  We then decide to look out our basement door to see how big the hail was. . . HOLY HAIL!  I have never been in a storm where the hail has been that big. . . so Gabe and I have this bright idea of him going to grab a piece so we can take a picture and send to people.   I know, dumb right!  He finds something to cover his head and while he is bending over to grab a piece of hail, one nails him right in the back leaving him with a welt. . tooo funny!  I had to take a picture of that too!  We are such bright individuals sometimes.  Anywho, when it was all said and done, he went out and grabbed a few more chunks. . shown below.

Gabe's WELT!!! oops!

22 weeks pregnant!  And still feeling fabulous!  Baby Baughman is the size of a baby doll this week. . . or in "FOOD" terms, the size of a spaghetti squash!  You are probably asking yourself, what the heck is a spaghetti squash. . .I had no idea what the heck this was either so I'm putting a picture up so you all know what to compare Baby to.

21 week photo, taken today!

Many things to chat about. . .

Where do I even begin!  It has been a very crazy week.  To start of, I had my 20 week doctor appointment last Friday and I'm sure you were alll waiting to hear the great news of how much weight I've gained!  I gained another 6 pounds this month bringing this to a total of 18 pounds in 5 months.  Again, our doctor didn't seem to be concerned so I'm good with it!  Everything is seeming to not be fitting so I am wearing a lot of leggings!  So sorry about the pictures not being up yet. . . I have been home all week teaching bible school with my mom and forgot my camera cord--but Gabe is bringing it tonight so i should have pictures posted later on, so check back!

We had some sad news in our family.  Last Friday, my dad's brother, Uncle Don, decided to leave us and go to heaven.  He has been in the hospital the last month with different problems.  When visiting him in the hospital, it was hard to watch him lay there and suffer.  He was still as sharp as ever though up to the end!  It was a sad day for all of us but also a blessing for Uncle Don.  My dad is the youngest of 13 children; Don was the oldest brother-- 77 years old.  Our family is truly blessed to have each other and so much love, support, and prayers from other family and friends.

This past week, I have been home helping mom with bible school.  I teach the youngest class--ages 3-6.  My mom thought I'd have around 11 kids. . . 19 KIDS SHOWED UP!  Thank goodness she gave me an extra helper!  The week went well though and I'm ready for the weekend!

21 weeks pregnant already!  Baby Baughman is the length of a CARROT this week!  And I promise as soon as Gabe gets here with my camera cord, I will upload recent pictures!!

HALF WAY!!!!!

So I am officially halfway!! I am 20 weeks today and we had our first ultrasound. WOW! What an incredible experience. I was expecting to go in, see the baby. . maybe. . .for a few seconds and walk out with a paper copy of our child. Instead, we were in the ultrasound room for over a half hour and got to see all the different parts and views of our baby. We walked out with 10 photos--unbelievable! It was so exciting seeing the little legs kicking and he/she's profile. We have a THUMB SUCKER! It was so cute, she zoomed in on the babies face and arms and the little arms were both up by the face and baby was sucking on his/her right hand! Everything looks good and there don't seem to be any abnormalities which we were happy to hear. Our baby is weighing in at 1 POUND; which is bigger than what I should be at. By the measurements, the nurse thought I looked about a week over what I say I'm at; so we will have to see!

So, the sex was identified but Gabe and I do not know. We are not sure if we want to know yet or not. But if we do, we have the results in a sealed envelope. You think I would be going crazy knowing that I have the results in hand but I am actually very content with it at the moment. I apologize for not having a picture up--I didn't get a chance to take one today and get it downloaded and everything. I will try and get one up within the next couple of days.

Oh yes, and for all of you that enjoy hearing about our little "fruit" or "vegetable"-- Baby Baughman is about the length of a banana this week! :)
My 20 week doctors appointment is tomorrow so I will know a little more after that--anybody want to take a guess at how much weight I've gained this month?!?!?!?! :)
