sick baby

I arrived at daycare today to find Carson with a 100 degree temperature.  Poor Baby!  He has had a mild runny nose and cough for a week or so now but today the cough turned into what sounds like a bark and his nose is so plugged up.  We cuddled a lot tonight, covered his chest in baby vix, gave him some tylenol and put him to bed.
Daddy gets to stay home tomorrow with him while Mommy goes to school.
Hopefully he feels better soon.  I hate seeing him not feel well.

Friday Nights

One thing I love about Friday nights in the fall is. . .FOOTBALL!  Last night before heading to Gabe's game, Carson and I were outside and I snapped a few photos. . just because. . .

So Innocent!
Carson just loves looking through the posts on the deck!

By the way, Cougars came out with a win last night!!  Carson slept in his stroller the entire 2nd half so it was fun to actually watch the game while we they playing well! :)

Our Saturday is being spent hanging out with Carson and relaxing! Love these days!
Heading back home tomorrow for a friends baby shower! :)
That is about all for now!

Boji, Christin's Bday, Concert, Boating, Homecoming week. . .

Haven't had a chance to blog in a while!  So here I go!
Last weekend we headed to Boji to help my sister celebrate her birthday.  Christin's birthday is 9-11 so we always like to make it special!  Gabe and I headed up Friday night after his football game wtih our girls that were babysitting Carson Saturday night.
My parents arrived Saturday morning.  Christin had to work until 6 so my parents and gabe and our sitters hung out at the cabin, went for a boat ride (stopped at barefoot and emporium to scope out the sales) , watched bits and pieces of the Iowa/Iowa State game (well Gabe watched the entrie game. . I got bored with it!).  I also decided to do a mini photo shoot of Carson down by the lake. . he had a cold and his nose was so runny and he wasn't himself, but they were still cute in his Iowa gear!

Saturday night, we headed into Spencer to meet up with my sister.  We went to the Clay County Fair. . whoo hoo!  We saw Rodney Adkins!  He is so tall in person but he put on a great show and I forgot how many good songs he has! :)
Not a grewat picture of him. . but you can see how huge he was!

Sunday we woke up to a gorgeous, beautiful, sunny day!  We wanted to head home early but we wanted to get on the boat. . ONE LAST TIME for the year!  The lake was calm and it was warm and truthfully. . I didn't want to get off!

Decided he was tired and just passed out on Grandpa's knee!

Last week was homecoming week and sooo busy!  I love dressing up for the days and showing school spirit and the kids love when the teachers get into it!  I only have a picture from one day. . DUCT TAPE DAY!  I put way to much time into my outfit the night before but it was fun!

4 besties!

Every labor day weekend brings about the Dewey Reunion!  My Grandma and all her sisters and ALL their children and all THEIR children gather together out at my Grandma and Grandpa's farm for a weekend of fun!  We were not able to make it out Saturday evening because we were traveling back from Iowa City but we sure didn't miss a thing on Sunday!  My Grandma works SOOO hard to bring this thing together.  She spends the month prior to this weekend getting her house ready and baking baking baking!  :)  It isn't the Dewey Reunion without. . Hayrides. . AND. . homemade ice cream!!!!  Carson loves tractors and anything dealing with being outside so he was in heaven!  It was such a fabulous day and I captured it all in pictures!
Preparing you  already for PICTURE OVERLOAD!  I just love my camera and love love love when there are picture opportunities!  So I appoligize already for my many many photos!  But you just gotta love them!
It was almost impossible to try to get Carson to look at the camera and SMILE at the same time!  Too much going on!

Kinnick Stadium!

This past Saturday we had the joy of traveling to Iowa City to watch a Hawkeye Football game!  My cousin's husband is the head defensive coach for EIU. . the team Iowa was playing. . .so we were cheering for the Panthers but sporting our Iowa gear!  This was my first time AND Carson's first time at Kinnick Stadium.  My mom and I left right after school on Friday but Gabe had a football game so he headed to Iowa City after his game was over.

Saturday was a gorgeous day for a game!  We arrived at the stadium around 9 and Carson fell asleep on my mom's shoulder and slept right through tailgating.  He didn't wake up until game time at 11 so he was ready to go! :)  We sat on about the 10 yard line and were maybe 10 yards from the field!  We had an amazing time and had so much fun hanging out with family!  I can't wait for my next Hawkeye game or Panthers. . whichever one comes first!!

Side note:  We were loading the train at the hotel that took us to the stadium and I was trying to take a picture of Gabe and Carson when I looked down and realized that my battery was DEAD. . . NOOOO!  I was so dissappointed but was so thankful that Carrie, my cousin, brought hers.  Here our a few of what she took!  Thanks Carrie!

Not quite sure what I was doing in this pic and had no idea Carrie was taking a pic!  :)
