Wedding, Baby Showers, and more

Well, do I have a lot to tell! I will try and keep it short but it was a CRAZY busy weekend!

Before I begin, I would like to show you guys my 35 week picture. . yes, I'm HUGE!

Lets start with Friday night--after school I drove back home for a wedding reception. My friends Katie and Luke got married and what a beautiful reception. Katie looked gorgeuos and I got to see SOOO many friends that I haven't seen in awhile. One of my best friends, Jenny, is pregnant also--but she isn't due until January. Being girls, and pregnant best friends, we were sure to get plenty of pictures!! And we did!

Saturday I took our freshman and jv girls to a volleyball tournament all day. . very long day but our freshman came out with a 2nd place trophy. . so whoo hoo!

Saturday night, we headed back home for a birthday bash for Gabe's dad! And this is where things start getting interesting! We showed up a bit late, just in time to go through the food line! Yum! After supper was over, Lindsey (Trav's gf) and Erin (Brandon's fiancee) wanted to go for a short walk so I was all for it. When we got back, everyone was told to go inside so Jim could open his presents. For some reason, I was leading the way into the house and as I was walking into the dining room, everyone started taking pictures of me. . SOOO CONFUSED AT THIS POINT. Then, everyone yells, "SURPRISE!" Gabe was beside me and these were his words at the surprise. . " You guys just wasted the gooood surprise on Paula" --Gabe was SOOO confused at this point also. It turns out the SURPRISE was for Gabe and I-- Gabe's family had put together a baby shower for us-- A SURPRISE BABY SHOWER! I had so many emotions at this point--the dining room table was completely covered in gifts and decorations. We got some awesome stuff and have such an amazing family. It was overwhelming all the stuff we got!

We started off playing a few games:
Game 1: Everyone had to cut a piece of string on how big they thought I was around--Lori and Gabe's Aunt Sue were exact! Gabe's dad however had me triple the size I really am--:)
Game 2: Everyone was given a piece of paper of Gabe and I's names and had to come up with baby names for each letter--the best answer was probably Gabe's Aunt Phyllis. . she had Ulga for the U in my name! ha!
Game 3: Gabe and I had a diaper changing contest--to start off we had to use cloth diapers-- and I ended up not being able to finish because when I pulled the diaper off, out flung a hershey's kiss mini poop!

Game 4: Gabe and I had to taste 6 different baby foods and guess what they were--we got none right. . and they were all nasty--Gabe stated he was not feeding this stuff to our child!

Sunday, my friends, Vanessa, BI, and BR threw me a baby shower down in Omaha at V's house. What a great party! I received some more wonderful things and now can say I am completely ready for Baby Baughman to be here! I have such amazing friends and am so lucky to have so many loving people in my life.

One game we played was seeing who could look the most pregnant. . .hmmm:) I hope I don't really look that bad!

So this blog definitely wasn't short, but had to get everything in and capture all the photo moments!

Homecoming Spirit

What a week it has been! It's our homecoming this week so it has been crazy dressing up and showing my school spirit! Today was 80's day. . and well, as you will see below, we got into it! Bethany, the head Vball coach and I decided to go as 80's workout chicks! Bethany looked like you just pulled her out of a Richard Simmons video. . priceless! Gabe, however, thought I looked like I was pulled from the movie Flashdance. Anyway, it has been fun, exhausting, but fun! Enjoy the picture! Soon to follow in a blog is my 35 week photo. . I am 35 weeks today but have yet to take a picture . . so posting will come soon for that!

Doctor's appt update

Went to the doctor today and had ANOTHER great report! He says I'm doing fantastic which is so good to hear. I have gained another 3 pounds in the last 2 weeks and am now up to 37 pounds total! I really don't feel like I have an extra 37 pounds on me--well, I guess I have my moments. I thought by now I would be waddling like my best friend Jenny did when she was pregnant for the first time ( sorry Jenny, but you did!) BUT. . no waddling here! The babies heartbeat was 140 today! Baby Baughman is so active, it's so fun to watch the baby move around in my stomach :)

Weekend update--soo, our basement finally was started this weekend! It was intented to be our summer project, but this is the first chance that we got to get started! Thursday night, Gabe and I were downstairs measuring and drawing chalk lines on the floor to mark different rooms. Gabe had this all layed out in his head. . it was just going with it and getting the okay from me. . ha! Like I know anything about layouts and floorplans! Gabe, my dad, and his dad were maniacs all day Saturday framing walls and starting to put things into place. Gabe and my dad worked for most of the day Sunday too--so work is in progress! I will be so happy to get it done since this is a project we have been wanting to do since January! Below is a picture of the progress as of Saturday night!

34 weeks!

I am officially 34 weeks pregnant and LOVING every minute of it. Have been sleeping extremely well. . besides the 3 times I get up to pee. . .but I don't really even mind that. I have a doctor's appointment on Monday so will have more info then! I can't wait to meet our baby!!! I'M SO READY!

This weekend, we are starting a BIG project--starting on our basement! It is unfinished and we are going to make it livable. Our plan was to have it done before school started, but that definitely didnt happen. It will be so nice to have some extra bedrooms and space. Our goal is to have it completely done by Christmas. . we will see how that goes! Gabe, my dad, and his dad are framing up walls this weekend. I will have to make sure to snap some photos so you can see our progress as we go!

33 week photo

Just thought I would add quick my 33 week photo--we take these before school so I'm always a little sleepy this early in the morning. This week happened to fall on a vball game so I'm sporting my sweet vball coaching shirt! HA!

Sweet Surprise

I just want to start off by saying that I may have the best husband in the world! He is definitely going for husband of the year! :) He spoils me rotten and is constantly doing sweet things for me and helping around the house--or should I say taking control of everything around the house!
Today at school, our secretary calls to my room and says I have a delivery. . A DELIVERY?!?! I'm thinking, why in the world would I have a delivery. So I go to the office to find a bouquet of flowers on the counter with a little bear around them---I open the card to find they are from Gabe-- I almost started crying. It definitely brightened my day--I am one of the luckiest girls in the world to have such an amazing guy! Just thought I'd share! And of course I am adding a picture of the bouquet! You know me and pictures!
