A long week without Daddy!

So we have made it through the week without Daddy! Gabe went back to school Monday and what a week it has been for him. He had conferences on Monday night so we didn't see him until almost 9, Tuesday he was home by 6, last night he had a football game so Carson and I were in bed before he got home and he had conferences again tonight and won't be home for another half hour or so. Gabe has missed his baby boy and I have missed him! Thank goodness for family! My parents came down Monday night and took Carson and I out for supper. Tuesday, my sister spent the day with us and we did a Wal-Mart run to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Yesterday my mom and grandma came down for the afternoon and evening and cleaned and did some baking! My grandma made her homemade mac and cheese--YUM! She also made us an apple crisp! My mom was cleaning in between her moments of bonding with Carson! They were such a huge help and it was so nice to have some company throughout the week! Today, it was just Carson and I all day and we survived! We slept in until about 11 and then have just been bumming around the house! He wakes up about every 2 hours throughout the night so needless to say I get about an hour of sleep at a time before the next feeding! I do not have pictures uploaded yet on my computer so you will get updated pictures of Carson tomorrow or Saturday!

Tomorrow we go back to the doctor to get Carson's bump checked out on his head--I think it has gone down a bit but it still is there. It doesn't seem to bother him though, thank goodness! So be watching for updates and photos!

1 week old!

It's hard to believe that our baby boy will be one week old tonight at 12:30. He has done so much changing in the last week and it has been SO nice to have Gabe at home with us all week. We have had some great family bonding time and Gabe has been such a great daddy/husband! I told him tonight that I am going to have separation anxiety when he has to go back to school on Monday and leave us. :(
Carson had his first doctor's appointment today and he is back at his birth weight already: 9 pounds 4 ounces! Doctor was wondering if Mommy was producing cream :) Everything else looked fantastic. We have to go back next week because Carson has this bump on his head that he got from me pushing him out. I think it is called hematoma or something like that but it's fluid that builds up. It has gone down a little bit this week but Doctor wants to see us next week to check it out again.
The nights haven't been too bad! The last couple of nights, Carson has gone 3 hours at times between feedings--he is ALWAYS hungry but such a good baby! The only time he gets mad is when we are changing his diaper, bath time, or if his tummy is hungry! It is so fun to watch all his faces while he sleeps and while he is awake! Here are a few picture updates from the week!

IT'S A BOY

Our precious baby boy is finally here! Carson Gabriel Baughman arrived at 12:30 a.m. October 17th! He was 9 pounds 4 ounces--YES, 9 POUNDS!!! Carson was 21 1/2 inches long and as beautiful and healthy as ever! We had so many wonderful family and friends visit us in the hospital and we were so excited to show off the newest member of our family!
We are now home and getting settled. Last night was a little difficult and Carson was up every hour but we are hoping that we can start to get in a routine--tonight has to be easier!
My sister came and stayed with us last night and all day today and we were so grateful to have her. She was a huge help and got all our laundry caught up and all the gifts we received at the hospital organized and put away! So a huge THANKS to her!
I have downloaded pictures to facebook but will post a few on here--be prepared for picture overload!

Grateful

Well, no baby over the weekend! My parents were down this weekend and we got lots of stuff accomplished! We are truly soo grateful for all our family does for us. My dad and Gabe worked in the basement yesterday and today--it just is so overwhelming how long things take. Gabe got most of our wiring done this weekend while my dad worked on the plumbing! It is going to be so great when it is complete--but that may be awhile. Our original plan was to be done with the basement before the baby came--NOT going to happen. Now our goal is possibly Christmas?!?! My mom was a ginormous help also this weekend. Today she cleaned our entire house AND did the ironing (I dislike ironing very much and almost all Gabe's shirts need ironing)--in fact, the last time the ironing was done was a month ago--and my mom did it :) I organized different closets, did laundry, baked apple crisp, and such. What a great feel it is to have a clean house. We are truly blessed to have great parents! :) I feel "thank you" just doesn't always say how much we really truly appreciate all the help we get from our families.

After my parents left tonight, I put the crib bedding and curtain up in the babies room! It looks so cute! Now I just need to buy things for the walls--but that will have to wait until the baby is here! I have loved being pregnant but I am getting so excited to have this baby!

Full Term!

A lot to talk about since I haven't blogged if forever! I am starting to get facebook messages stating that I need to blog. . so here I am, blogging! So I hope you are reading this Julie! :)
So, it is official! I am full term. . 37 weeks! Baby Baughman may come at anytime and we are so ready! I have been going to the doctor every week now--and you will not believe how much weight I have gained in 9 months. I whopping 45 pounds! WHOOPS! A little bit over the recommended amount--but what do you do! :)

37 week photo!

Last weekend, one of my best friends Jenny, Eric, and Jalen came to visit us! What a great day! Jenny and I spend the afternoon making dips and food for the guys. . who were tearing off shingles! Fun Fun! Jenny was in charge of the dips while I was in charge of desserts--very dangerous putting 2 pregnant woman in charge of the kitchen all day! But it was fun! We then got ambitious and decided to put together the bassinet Gabe's parents gave to us--it took us quite a while and me reading the directions a few times over. . but we got it together and it looks fabulous! Jalen was even a super helper! I so wish we lived closer to each other because we decided that if we did, we would be over at each others houses each weekend cooking up things while the guys hung out and watched football!

Jalen LOVED hanging out with his Aunt Paula! :)

One day this week, the volleyball girls had a surprise for me--they surprised me DIAPERS! Bethany, who is the head coach, had her mother-in-law make a diaper cake! So cute! I am so grateful for all the wonderful people in my life!
